PARC is a research centre of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, its equipment and facilities are solely for the purpose of research conducted to support of the Department’s priorities and are not generally available to companies in the region conducting R&D. However, PARC researchers collaborate with universities and with industries, both in the agricultural sector and agri-business, toward meeting the Department’s goals. Currently at PARC research is being conducted in four areas of national priority: Bioproducts and Bioprocesses including biotechnology and genomics; Environmental Health including soil and water resource management, biodiversity and integrated pest management; Food Safety and Food Quality; and Sustainable Production Systems including tree fruit production and breeding, viticulture, and new crops
